Auto Finance Growth Outlook Sparks Confidence

The outlook for auto finance growth is encouraging, the latest TransUnion report on auto loan volume and delinquencies shows.

"We've seen credit availability play a big role with the increase in car sales, and credit availability is still good," Peter Turek, TransUnion's vice president of automotive, said Wednesday in a phone interview discussing the report. .

The combination of higher loan volumes and low delinquencies builds confidence in the auto finance market, he said.

"Dealers have confidence lenders are going to be around. Lenders have confidence dealers are not putting consumers in vehicles they can't handle when they hit a rough patch," Turek said.

Completing the picture, he said, consumers have enough confidence to take on more debt.

In both the prime and subprime categories, buyers are borrowing in greater numbers as auto sales increase, and, on average, they are borrowing bigger amounts per loan, TransUnion said.

In the second quarter this year, the average debt per loan was $13,435, up about 4 percent from $12,875 in the 2012 period.

Despite the increase, buyers with prime and subprime credit are managing to make payments on time at almost exactly the same rate as a year ago, Turek said.

Among all borrowers, only 0.80 percent of auto loans were 60 or more days delinquent in the second quarter of 2013. That was a slight increase from 0.79 percent a year earlier, TransUnion said.

Loans that are delinquent 60 or more days are the most likely to be written off as bad loans.

For buyers with subprime credit, the 60-day delinquency level was 5.02 percent, only a small increase from 4.94 percent a year earlier.

"It's encouraging to see consumers take on more auto debt while delinquencies remain low," Turek said. "Consumers clearly are more confident in managing additional debt."

Luxury Vehicle Rental Prices: Things You Should Know

Luxury Road Events offers its customers the kind of top-class party bus rides that no others can. They stand out among the rest in the sense that their prices are affordable and yet, they provide services that treat you like real VIPs. If youd like to make your next event or celebration extra special and classy, give the party bus a shot and make a booking! Check out www.luxuryroadevents.com for all the details and inquiries.

Luxury Road Events is one of many limo or party bus rental services. The prices of hiring those vehicles vary, depending on which company as well as the town or city. Different prices go hand in hand with different qualities of service in the market. Therefore, when it comes to choosing the right company, its important to understand the factors behind the price.

Size of the Vehicle

The price directly reflects the space you can expect to have inside. Party buses and limos are available in different sizes. There are limousines that can fit six individuals, while slightly bigger ones are good for eight. Of course, you can bet the seating capacity of party buses to be double digits. Comfort should be prioritized when considering a luxury vehicle, as having to end up sitting with thighs stuck together wouldnt make it worth the money spent. Thats why its always better to choose a ride that fits more people than there will actually be. More space means a more pleasant ride.

Distance to the Airport

As upscale as they are, party buses and limos still rely on gasoline and a good set of tires. If you happen to need one for a trip to or from the airport, youll have to realize how distance comes into play. Especially in the bigger cities, those journeys take considerable amounts of time due to traffic or the location being out of the way.

Rate per Hour

You can expect the minimum time to use a luxury vehicle to be two or three hours for most companies. The price should then increase in relation to the additional hours you need. Therefore, its good to get a calculation of the amount youd be spending for every hour in the ride. Its indicative of the basic costs that the company must cover or partly cover. These can be fuel, maintenance, employees salaries or even the vehicle purchase itself.

Drivers Tip

Luxury vehicle chauffeurs are true professionals. They tend to exceed their passengers expectations and provide nothing short of excellent service. They enjoy what they do and naturally, they should be tipped with an amount that shows them your appreciation. On average, clients give about 20 percent of the total amount as tip. A number of companies in fact have a drivers tip added to the bill. Still, theres certainly nothing against a more sizeable gratuity if he proves worthy of it.

Inclusions in Service

Its important to check with any company and ensure theyre transparent about all the things included in their rentals. Most of them supposedly have their prices inclusive of refreshments, on-board entertainment, tolls and motorway fees, cleaning, travel and waiting times. Its only right that theyre mentioned upfront and not presented in the end as additional charges.

Do a little research and find out if you qualify for any of the special deals that are available. That could save you some money on your car.

Having a new car is fun, but actually buying it is not most people's favorite activity. By learning how to shop for a car, you can begin to enjoy your car shopping experience. Hopefully, you've learned all you need to know to start shopping for that new car.

Personal Hovercraft For Leisure And Fun

There are a lot of ways you can have fun with a personal hovercraft for sale or rent . For starters, you can, for example ... Wait just a New York minute. I'm racing off and may be talking about terms that mean nothing to the reader. Not everyone knows exactly what personal hovercrafts are, so I should go over some basics first. In case you have never heard of this type of vehicle, I ought to explain. Personal hovercrafts are amphibious vehicles that can be used in many different kinds of environments. They are also known as ACVs (air-cushion vehicles). As their name indicates, they move over terrain not by moving on it, but by hovering over it. More precisely, their engine gives them both a cushion to lift them and a thrust to control their movement in either a backward or forward direction.

Although hovercrafts are used for security operations - such as search-and-rescue situations, dive recovery, and military services - one important purpose they're used for is pleasure and entertainment. But more on that later. For now, we should really dive into the nitty-gritty of personal hovercrafts. Because of their manoeuvrability, the personal hovercraft can easily switch from land environments to water environments. Thanks to its cushion of air, the hovercraft only slightly brush the surfaces they're rising above. Usually, they can be driven 9 inches above a given surface.

How Do Personal Hovercrafts Work?

First of all, as weve said, personal hovercrafts are amphibious, which is juts one of the major advantages of this type of transport. This means they are well-suited to a variety of natural landscapes - sand snow, lakes, swamps, frozen rivers, ice and broken ice. This is why they're ideal for security operations; they can access isolated locations quickly and efficiently. Ideas of vehicles that get on by via hovering have been discussed as far back as in the ancient Greek area. However, the history of the modern hovercraft begins with Dr. Christopher Cockerell.

In 1954, this engineer who was working for Marconi when he helped develop radar patented the word hovercraft. Inspired by military scenarios - D-Day and Normandy, to be precise - he wondered how military troops could be brought safely and quickly onto a beach. His first prototype, the Ripple Craft, became, fter much reworking, completely amphibious in 1958. The mechanism worked by using air jets to form a kind of cushion which would both decrease fiction and allow boats to move faster on the water.

The Principle Of Operation Of Air Cushioned Vehicles

Invented in the 1950s, hovercraft (or ACVs) have recently enjoyed a resurgence among people looking for new and innovative ways of spending their leisure time. Until recently, although large versions have been built and used by the military and certain commercial carriers, it hasn't been cost effective or safe enough to built small personal hovercraft. New materials and designs have made this now possible and we see air cushioned craft being used for racing (very exciting), rescue, survey and also leisure activities.

The fascinating thing about these hovercraft of all sizes is that they don't travel on the ground or on water, but hover above it on a cushion of air pressure. A large craft might hover a foot or so off the ground, and a small personal hovercraft just a few inches. If you want to buy a small hovercraft, it's very important to check the safety features before making the sale. All designs use a propeller mounted underneath the vehicle to direct air down to the ground and also out the back to propel it along, called forward thrust.

Downward thrust, or lift, is provided by the air pressure underneath the craft, which has to be contained within a skirt surrounding, and fastened to, the hull. It isn't possible to contain the air completely however - it needs to leak out from under the skirt around the edges to maintain an even air pressure underneath the hull. The skirt is made from very tough material and in the case of larger craft is very substantial indeed.

The hovercraft is pushed forward by re-directing some air, if there is only one engine, to the rear of the ACV. A large version may need two or several powerful engines to carry a big payload of passengers or equipment. Hinged flaps are mounted in the air flow leaving the rear and can be turned so that air flow is re-directed by the pilot's steering mechanism. As you might imagine, a quick and tight turn is just not possible, but it's true that larger boats and ships cannot turn quickly either.

Hovercraft for leisure purposes also have flaps for steering, but also rely on the pilot's body weight. Most versions have handle bar type steering controls. When the pilot turns the handles, he also leans heavily on the side of the craft in the direction he wants to go.. The combination of the two actions can effect quite a rapid turn and racing ACVs can be quite nimble around tight turns, both on land and water.

Hovercraft Skirt Fabrication And New Materials

One of the big problems experience by hovercraft manufacturers, and a huge factor in determining hovercraft prices is skirt construction. Even though ACVs don't actually touch the ground, they don't really hover over the surface in a consistent fashion either. Inevitably they rock around a little, or a lot, depending upon their size. Really big craft hardly rock at all, but do encounter quite big obstructions as they meander across mixed terrain. For huge craft like the Russian Zubr class troop carrier, it's not too much of an issue, as this monster vehicle floats 7 feet off the ground. Imagine being underneath that thing as it passes over - the noise alone would kill you.

The skirt issue becomes more acute with small hovercraft purchased for personal use - see this report click here . The overall area of the hull is small compared to the height of the craft and is inherently less stable. Add to this the fact that little air cushioned craft are steered and controlled in a very different way than the big boys. Handlebars are normally employed, just like a motorbike, and are turned in the direction of travel and while this does in fact turn the craft, it's quite a slow affair. If used for racing, for example, it just isn't quick enough. Faster turns are negotiated by the operator throwing his body weight in the same direction to maximize the impact of the manoeuvre.

The combination of the handlebar action and the new weight distribution characteristics causes the ACV to tilt and the skirt touches the ground, which can in itself cause friction wear over a period of time. If there happened to be a rock or other immovable object in the path, then extensive damage might occur, ripping the skirt and drastically reducing the lift available to keep the hovercraft off the ground and moving forwards.

Some hovercraft manufacturers have move away from the traditional skirt materials such rip-stop sail cloth, extensively used for large and small ocean going sailing boats, and at the same time re-designed the actual skirt method of fabrication to reduce the costs of such damage. Modern methods include the use of tougher materials like Kevlar, which is bullet proof and extensively by the military and police forces, ad other similar fabrics covered in a durable layer of Neoprene. In addition, skirts can be fabricated in relatively small sections and loosely clipped together during construction. This means that if one section is damaged, then it's possible to change a small part 'on the fly', which drastically reduces the cost of the hovercraft.

Why Off-road Enthusiasts Love Their Agm Batteries

Lead acid batteries, like the kind commonly found in cars, really hadn't changed much in quite a few years. Lately though, due to more types of uses outside of the automobile realm, there have been some great developments that have made them stronger, more powerful and longer lasting. One of those improvements that is proving to be useful in many different applications are the AGM batteries. Let's take a look at some of the great advantages of these types of batteries.

The AGM Battery Uses Glass Mats

This is the major difference between them and regular lead acid batteries as far as construction goes. The glass mats hold onto the electrolytes in the battery and keep them from sloshing around. That make this type of battery better for use in applications where there is going to be lots of physical abuse involved.

By physical abuse, of course, we're talking about the way the vehicle is used. A good example would be an airplane which can turn nearly upside down, straight up or straight down in normal usage. Since the AGM battery has the glass mats holding the electrolytes, plus the sealed caps, there is no chance of the acid leaking out during flight.

Battery acid, while not strong enough to burn skin most of the time, makes a great conductor of electricity and also causes fast corrosion on any metals that it comes into contact with. If a battery was to leak into the wrong circuit board during a flight, the results could be catastrophic. Corrosion, on the other hand, would take longer, but could also cause deadly problems later on.

These Types Of Batteries Are Popular With Off-Road Enthusiasts

One of the reasons the off-road enthusiasts that ride motorcycles, ATV's, and four wheel drives frequently under perilous circumstances really like their AGM batteries is the exact same reason that airplanes do. They can be turned in nearly any position, including upside down, and not leak acid all over your valuable electronic components.

They are also very well known for having higher than normal starting capacity and lasting longer than a regular lead acid battery. Since the whole idea of some off-roaders is being self-reliant and getting out of jams, these types of batteries are a big hit with them.

If you're thinking about getting a new battery for your extreme use vehicle, you can't go wrong by choosing the AGM type of battery. They're strong, reliable and durable, just check some of their reviews online where people speak freely and you'll see.

Cars For Sale In Ashford Kent And Finding What Works For You

Don't just go out and look for cars for sale in Ashford Kent without knowing how to get the right car for the right price. Many dealerships will try to just get you to spend the most money possible. Don't fall for common sales tactics and get something you know you want.

Trying to buy a used vehicle from a dealership is a good idea if you're not that familiar with what you want and you just want to shop around a little. However, you need to remember that they are there to make as much money as they can and you have to take what they recommend with a grain of salt. Look for vehicles you like and will be able to use regularly. Don't go with something that is nice and expensive just because you were told you could get a fantastic deal, because that may end in it being costly and not useful for you.

Finding someone that can sell you a vehicle privately such as through classified ads in your local paper can be a great way to get a good vehicle for a fair price. This is a little more risky, because if you're not careful you could end up buying a lemon and not being able to get your money back after the title is signed over. You should have a solid understanding of what to look for in a vehicle that is not working right, or you should bring someone that does so you don't get ripped off in any way.

Saving money on a used vehicle can be done if you trade in your old car or truck to get it. Depending on what kind it is, you may even be able to just trade it straight up for what you want. Of course, you're going to get less than what you would if you were to sell the vehicle yourself because people pay more if you make a deal privately. Companies like a dealership can pay less because you don't have to advertise or spend a bunch of time on doing business with them.

Getting a vehicle financed is another good way to save some money on it because you're going to be able to come up with a payment plan of some kind with the seller. They will have something for you to sign that tells you what your regular payments will be, and you'll also learn about what the fees are if you are unable to pay if you ask about them. Be sure you do the math to figure out what it's going to cost you in the end so you know whether or not it's worth it.

Cars for sale in Ashford Kent are good to look into before you go out to dealerships. You now also know how to find private sellers that have great deals. Whatever you decide to do, it pays to be cautious.

Learning To Ride A Motorcycle

Although a lot of people consider riding a motorcycle as a dangerous and challenging activity, motoring enthusiasts will tell you that there is no experience like it. Riding a motorbike instead of driving around town offers better fuel efficiency as well as more fun. Like any other new skill, learning to ride a motorcycle requires some core competencies. You should focus on taking the necessary precautions, including maintaining the appropriate space between other vehicles, wearing your helmet, gaining confidence in riding, maintaining your motorcycle and keeping your speed at reasonable levels.

One of the most important things you can do in order to familiarize yourself with your motorcycle is to take a safety course. While many states require taking a safety course in order to obtain a motorcycle license, we think that it helps you learn new safety and riding techniques. If you have obtained your license, you can start by getting familiar with the requirements, as well as the rights and laws of riders in your area.

Once you are informed about the rules, you have to understand better how your motorcycle works. A skillful motorcyclist knows the weight and workings of his bike, and he can control it easily. Motorbikes include these essential components: gear shifter, clutch, accelerator, brake and fuel gages. Before riding your bike, you should learn how all these necessary components function. Ask an experienced friend, or motorbike instructor to walk you through those functions. Having someone to guide you through the basics is very important when you are inexperienced. He can also help you get comfortable sitting as well as standing on the bike.

Once you know all the necessary basics it is time to start riding. Select an isolated street in your neighborhood, where chances of a vehicle passing are minimum. Another good idea is to go to a parking lot. Either way, take the opportunity and start practicing braking, turning, accelerating, parking as well as starting.

If you have followed all of the above steps very carefully, you are ready to ride. Congratulations. You will find that riding is an amazing experience as long as you keep you speed within reasonable limits. Motorcycles are meant to be driven like cars, which means maintaining their position on the road and passing other vehicles only when it is appropriate. Save turning and taking off for the open road. Also, when in traffic, maintain your focus on the road since losing your focus can easily result in a serious accident. Try to keep the necessary distance and be aware of the vehicles around you. Last but least, remember that riding- when done properly- can be an unforgettable experience so enjoy every minute of it.

Common Reasons For A Dead Car Battery.

Having a flat car battery can be one of the most common issues facing vehicle owners.

Maybe your heading out to drop the kids off at school, trying to get to work or an appointment. You get into the car turn the key and nothing. There are a few possibilities why this happens but here are the most common.

(1)You Battery Has Drained.

Its easy done, but sometimes we leave something on when we leave the car, these could include

The headlights

Interior lights

car radio

Some cars haven't got the alarms that sound when something has been left on when we have removed the keys, so its always best to check everything when the vehicle is off.

(2)Alternator Problems.

A faulty alternator can cause a dead car battery, The alternator is responsible for charging your battery while the vehicle is running.

If its not working properly it may not supply enough power to the battery to replace what's been used, this is commonly known as under charging. It could also be overcharging which means it would be supplying a higher rate than the battery can cope with.

Also check alternator belts as this could also be a reason for charging problems.

(3)Temperatures.

Hot Temperature.

Extremely hot temperatures can ruin you a car battery. It Can drain quickly because heat causes the battery to expend energy at a quicker rate.

Cold Temperatures.

Extremely cold temperatures can make it more difficult for the battery to start your engine. The cold temperature slows down the chemical reactions in the battery that are needed to start your car.

(4)The Age Of Your Car Battery.

The average life of a car battery is about three to four years, but this can be more or less depending on your environment. As car batteries age, the inner plates can become coated and affected by sulfation.

Once this starts to happen, it can cause the battery to no longer hold its charge for as long and eventually die.

Your vehicle may give you early signs that it will soon fail, your electrics might not perform as expected, you notice your lights starting to become dimmer. Maybe you have had to recently had to jump start the vehicle.

If you feel that your battery is about to die, then its advised to get you vehicle to a local garage , purchase a battery from a battery store and fit it yourself, or some companies provide a handy car battery replacement at home service. These are great as they come to you with a new battery and fit it at your location.

Efficient Driving.

The difference between a high and low rate of fuel consumption can be achieved through efficient driving. Efficient driving is the modern and perfect way to arrive at any destination faster and safer.

Tips necessary to achieve efficient driving.

Regularly check the tyre pressure.

Low tyre pressure is not only a high-risk driving but also leads to a higher consumption of fuel. The rolling resistance of the car requires a considerable amount of energy to overcome. The lower the tyre pressure, the more the rolling resistance, and the higher the fuel consumption. Low tyre pressure also affects the vehicle braking and handling capability.

Tyre pressure should be checked at least once every month. The vehicle manufacturers normally recommend different tyre pressures for driving a loaded and an unloaded vehicle. The different pressure levels are normally indicated on the car manual, on the door post or on the vehicles fuel filling cap. Electronic accessories can also be equipped to monitor tyre pressure.

Beware of the fuel consuming appliances.

When driving, it is important to note that money is spent whenever any extra energy is used in the car. Electrical gadgets depend on the electric energy converted during the fuel combustion process. Electrical appliances such as air conditioners, onboard car heaters and modern HiFi systems should be used considerably since they increase the level of fuel consumption.

Driving around bends on the road.

Driving around bends can increase fuel consumption if not done efficiently. Efficient driving around bends involves a careful consideration of the prevailing weather conditions, the nature of the bend, the suitability of the road and the speed at which one approaches the bend. Instead of changing to a lower gear, the speed should be altered by a simple manipulation of the brakes.

The use of brakes can further be limited by a prior anticipation of the bends during approach. A sudden application of the brakes to negotiate the bend, followed by a drastic higher engine revolution to achieve acceleration is not only a possible cause of an accident but also increases fuel consumption.

Driving uphill.

Without the right acceleration and correct brake application, travelling uphill can lead to a higher level of fuel consumption. The secret for efficient driving in a mountainous terrain is to drive at a constant speed, engine revolution of 1000 rpm, while having a full load, instead of the usual high gear with maximum application of pressure on the accelerator.

Switch off the engine when necessary.

Fuel is used whenever the car engine runs. Efficient driving involves switching off the engine when necessary. When you stop temporarily such as on pedestrian crossing, railway crossing, when at the stop of the traffic lights or when you take a short stop to wait for someone, it is necessary to switch off the engine to save on the fuel consumption.

For modern vehicles, switching on the engine upon resumption of the journey does not necessarily need the pressing of the accelerator pedal. This makes starting the engine harder, thus leading to an increase in the amount of fuel used. The cars engine management system is designed to enable a proper starting of the engine.

Consider the cars aerodynamic performance.

The aerodynamic quality of a car greatly determines its fuel saving capability. During manufacture, all cars are tested for their ability to withstand and perform within acceptable standards of aerodynamic capabilities. The quality is, however, altered by the addition of other accessories such as roof boxes and extra aerials on the cars.

Such accessories will increase the air resistance during motion, thus increasing the rate of fuel consumption. When not necessary, roof boxes should be avoided especially for long journeys. Driving with open windows also allows air currents inside the vehicle, thus increasing air resistance. This, in the long run, reduces the cars aerodynamic capability.

Maintain a steady driving speed.

Maintaining a steady driving speed, with a lower engine revolution saves a larger amount of fuel compared to driving at the same speed, but with very drastic application of brakes and irregular intervals of acceleration.

Efficient driving involves a smooth driving, with minimal stress on the vehicles performance, and an undisturbed cruising. It is advisable to use the cars cruise control for highway driving and driving in challenging traffic situations within the city. This will help achieve a smooth driving. For professional help you may wish to learn to drive efficiently in Glasgow.

Make use of onboard devices.

Modern cars are equipped with onboard computers and other devices that help monitor the fuel consumption patterns while driving. They indicate the average and actual fuel consumption levels, giving the driver a real-time feedback on the rate at which fuel is used.

Cruise control, on the other hand, enables the maintenance of a steady driving speed, and a more relaxed style of driving. The Revolution counter prevents the car from being driven at a speed that would otherwise be considered excessive, inefficient and dangerous.

Efficient driving is an important technique that should be avoided by drivers for both short and long journeys. The benefit of this kind of driving is that it improves the safety of both the driver and other road users, promotes environmental friendliness by reducing the rate of smoke emissions and saves on the cost of fuel.

You might not know all the ways to advertise a car online for free at first, but it pays to look around. If you can get your car on several sites listed for free, give it a day or two to see if you get bites off of those advertisements first.

Next, you might be thinking it's time to start looking at paid listings, but first you have to think about everything else you're doing on the side as well to sell your car. Online listings are often the best way to get your car sold quickly, but other things matter, too.

For example, where is your car located? You might want to have your car kept in a garage so that it stays nice. However, do you have the luxury of parking it out somewhere on your property with a for sale sign? Or, if it's the car you're driving, you can have a for sale sign on the car as you're driving it around.

You can even purposely drive the car that's for sale, even if you usually buy another car. Hey, it's free publicity, and you never know when someone will either stop you and make an offer or call you later with one by getting your phone number off of the for sale sign.

You also of course want to keep your car clean. If it's the one you're driving, that can be difficult. Of course, you could choose not to drive it everywhere like to work and back, but instead drive it on occasion like for other outings and on the weekends.

Pricing your car correctly is one way to get the sale, and of course you want to make the right amount of money on the deal, too. That's why at all costs, you want to stay away from paid advertising if possible. Every dollar counts when you're trying to profit off of the sale of your vehicle.
